Homework: Amazing Art!

Once again,  we’ve had some amazing homework come into school this week.

I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the amount of effort that some children have put into their homework – it’s a delight to see it and display it in our classroom!

I’m sure you’ll agree that the children should be extremely proud of themselves.

SMSC: Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

Today we launched our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal.

As you can see from the letter, we are aiming to complete shoeboxes for children aged 5-9.

Any items that you can donate would be much appreciated – your child can bring them into school and hand them into their class teacher

All items are to be brought into school for Friday 10th November.

Thank you for your support with this – it’s much appreciated!

SMSC: Sporting Achievements

It was lovely of Leyla and Bradley to share their sporting trophies this week in our Celebration Assembly.

Leyla, who attends a Golborne Morris dancing troop, achieved 2nd place in a local competition last weekend.

Bradley plays for Golborne Sports Thunder Football Club. He was awarded his trophy for ‘Trainer of the Week’ for his super listening skills, passing techniques and excellent running.

It was also great to hear how Madison represented her gymnastic club in a national competition in Newcastle last week.  Her trio of gymnasts came 4th – what an amazing achievement!

Well done children – you should be very proud of yourselves!

13.10.17: What are we learning next week?

In our English work, and in connection with our rainforest topic, we will be writing a weather report.

Maths will continue to focus upon statistics and looking at interpreting information in line graphs and timetables.

Topic work will look at completing some exciting rainforest 3D sculptures.  If anyone has any spare newspapers for Year 5 to use, that would be great. Please bring them into school from Monday next week.

Also, if anyone has any old shirts/t-shirts (any size as long as they are on the baggy side!) that they would be willing to donate to Year 5,  they would be much appreciated.  Our current art aprons are looking a little worse for wear!
