English will continue to focus on ‘Powerless’ as we shall complete our narrative writing.
In Maths, we will be working on angles.
Topic work will focus on creating a wall hanging using textiles. After the amazing art work the class completed in the last unit, I’m really looking forward to seeing what they produce in this new unit.
In preparation for an upcoming dance celebration at Golborne High School, Year 5 will be also be rehearsing their Egyptian dance that they learned with Apple Dance.
Wow! That is all I can say about Y5’s finished Pop Art self-portraits. I am certainly one proud and amazed teacher.
We couldn’t wait to share some of them with you – we hope you like them! Over the next few days, we will be creating a class display showing them all. We’ll be sure to add a photo of the display once it’s done.
In our art lesson today, we thought about the work of the great artist Andy Warhol.
We thought about how important our facial expressions are for showing others our personality and mood.

In our topic lessons, we will continue to answer the topic question ‘How did the great artists see themselves?’ We shall be completing our own self portrait in the style of Andy Warhol, who is our focus artist for this unit.
On Monday, we will be going to see Miss Rubio for our first Spanish lesson of this term. I know this is a lesson that most of the class look forward to!
